Submergence

Tides roll, swell and bow to no man;
Tearing and smashing rusted mechanics,
With foamed veils raging at the sky,
Holding the present in chaos flowing.

Lack of all want tugs below the torrent:
A dark phantasm uncovered beneath,
Passing forever in muted silence,
Against the grip of resolute command.

Dulled reason wails for guidance.
The first step is taken remotely.
Surging forces engulf all vision and
Towering brutes rise from their sleep.

Silent no more, yet no whisper is heard
Breaking senses, a fight for balance
With piercing terror, the fury withdraws.
Fated oaths gather, a tribute is made.

Worlds entwine with a silver ebb as
Alighted figures dance gaily onward;
Their blurring pirouettes light the fire:
Enticing comfort extinguishing the heat.

Eyes crafted from other worldly serenity,
Repeating formless words floating on;
Reaching deftly to caress across the pit.
Dreams harbouring tales of the unspoken.

Coiled cloth forming a gentle embrace:
Rippling against incandescent skin.
Delicate futures dearly held and paid for:
Annulled into an icy absolution.
